Wizkid is the Chairman and CEO of the “StarBoy” music record label; a label which is in partnership with “Disturbing” London, and hosts the likes of Maleek Berry, LAX, and Mutayo Flif. He started the record label in 2013, after a dispute with his former boss, Banky W. Wizkid makes money from the booking of his artistes, singles release and album sale (although he’s still the only one to have released an album under the record label).
In endorsements, Wizkid has gone far. He is the only male ambassador in Nigeria for giant soft drink brand Pepsi. According to reports, the deal made Wizkid Just N70Million richer and his partner is the OgaMadam herself Tiwa Savage.
When Wizkid signed a deal with MTN for N40Million, they must have thought he was in for the long term but with no significant improvement on the table when it was time for renewal, GLO didn’t waste time to pounce waving an endorsement deal in the excess of N100million to the superstar.
Also in 2013, Guinness came knocking with an endorsement deal in the region of N100Million for Wizkid which he signed and became a brand ambassador. Wizkid’s other income means is his bookings. Wizkid charges N2M – N4M per show for bookings and charges N30k – N400k per show for organized events and concerts.
Wizkid who is sometimes referred to, as the Justin Beiber of Africa is rumoured to have a filling station in Victoria Island, Lagos; although for unknown reasons, he refused to confirm or deny the report.
Wizkid currently has a net worth that stands at $12 Million.
Olamide Adedeji, simply known as Olamide is a Nigerian rapper, a brand ambassador, a father and a businessman. Olamide was born and raised in Bariga, Lagos and he is the founder and CEO of one of the fastest growing music record label in Nigeria – YBNL Nation. Like his song with Phyno, Olamide makes “dope money” from his album sales, invited shows and events, his own Olamide Live In Concert #OLIC, and his endorsement deals.
Olamide is an ambassador to the likes of Ciroc, Guinness (#MadeOfBlack), and the giant telecom brand Etisalat. Since his rise to fame in 2011, “Badoo” has done everything within his capacity to make sure he remains in the mainstream. Olamide’s endorsement deals shoots him well over the N100 Million mark and he charges between N2 million to N4 million per show for bookings and between N10k – N300k per show for organized events or his concerts (Olamide Live In Concert #OLIC).
The rapper is also rumoured to own three houses, one on the island, and two on the mainland. Olamide certainly knows how to enjoy his wealth too. His present luxurious house saw him part ways with a whopping sum of N38 Million, and it is located in the coveted neighbourhood of Lekki, Lagos. He built another one in Bariga close to a Petrol Station which people claim also belongs to him. The Bariga crib is reportedly worth around N25 Million.
Olamide also has his third house built in his parent’s name, located also in Bariga where he grew up. The exquisitely furnished and finished three bedroom apartment costs around N20 Million and he dedicated it to his Mum, whom he seems to be close to as seen from his commercial for one of his endorsement company – Peak Milk, the deal he signed with fellow musical stars – Nyanya, Yemi Alade and Selebobo.
When your current net worth stands at an impressive $6Million, it’s not a bad idea to buy a N6 Million Toyota Venza for your producer. At least, what would songs sound like without the matching beats? Olamide also has a number of fast cars himself, but his latest automobile addition was the Land Rover Range Rover which is worth around N15 Million. Prior to that, he has acquired the Honda 2012 Model for around N6 Million and the Mercedes G-Class for around N22 Million.
The YBNL boss is one not known for a loud lifestyle so it comes as little surprise if his acquisitions are of moderate range or not as lousy as many other celebrities. He even refuses to answer questions when asked about his investments and acquisitions but we all know a few possessions can’t slip the net of the press
Olamide Adedeji was born on the 15th of March, 1989 in Bariga, Lagos State Nigeria. He attended both primary and high schools in Lagos but for his tertiary education, Olamide attended Tai Solarin University of Education where he studied Mass Communicatiom.
Professional music for the talented Yoruba singer began in 2010 with the release of his first single; ‘Eni Duro’ Eni Duro was released under the Coded Tunes record label which Olamide was signed unto at the time. The song received wide critical acclaim and instantly shot Olamide to limelight.
In 2011, he released his first album titled ‘Rapsodi’ in which he featured several top Nigerian artistses like ID Cabasa, Wizkid, Dbanj, Reminisce and 9ice. It’s needless to say that the album was a huge success.
Olamide didn’t rest on his oars after the success of his first album, in 2012; he went on to release another album titled YBNL. The album had several hit singles like ‘First of All’, ‘Voice of the street’, ‘Ilefo Iluminati’ ‘Stupid love’ ‘Durosoke’ and ‘Owotabua’. Once again, the album which featured several major Nigerian artistes like Tiwa Savage, Dammy Krane, Kayswitch, Samklef, Davido and a couple of up and coming artistes, was well received
Another album titled “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth’ was released in 2013 which featured hit singles like ‘Anifowose’ ‘Story for the Gods’ and ‘Yemi my Lover’ and in 2014, he released his latest album, Street OT, in which he featured Don Jazzy for ‘Skelemba’ and Viktoh for ‘Up in the Club.
One attribute that has helped Olamide stay afloat in his musical career is his ability to stay away from scandals and his strong work ethic. This is evident in the number of albums he has been able to release within a short time of launching his musical career.
Olamide has been nominated for several national and international awards, some of which include Artiste of the Year, Best Rap Album, Album of the Year, Best Rap Single, 2014 Channel O Music Video Awards ‘Most Gifted West’, 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards “Best Rap Act of the Year”, MTV Africa Music Awards 2014 “Best Hip Hop” and “Male Musician of the Year”, City People Entertainment Awards “Most Popular Song of the Year” “Rap Album of the Year” and “World’s Best Male Artiste”, World’s Music Awards “World’s Best Live Act” ,“World’s Best Entertainment of the Year” and “Video of the Year”, Nigeria Music Video Awards “Best Afro Hip Hop Video”, “Song of the Year”, “Best Street Hip Hop Artiste, “Best Rap Single”, The Headies 2013 “Artiste of the Year”, “Lyricist on the Roll”, “Best Rap Album”, “Album of the Year”, Best Album of the Year”, “Best Rap Act of the Year” and “Music Video of the Year”.
